Health update

Osteoarthritis in my left knee; the Dr. I saw at urgent care said that the cartilage in a place where it should look like a wave in my knee looks more like a spike, and that there are "definite signs of degeneration" around the top of my tibia.

She's put me on crutches for the time being (and, man, I'd forgotten what an upper body workout crutches can be) and I have an appointment to see my regular physician tomorrow at 9:45. I kind of doubt I'm going to need surgery; I think it's much more likely that I just need to get off the knee for a while.

And, that said, I'm going to go curl up on my couch and get off my knee for a while.

Wow, that sucks. I'm sorry about that and all I can offer is my sympathy. If I lived nearby, I'd offer other things like yarn and silly action movies.

It is, as they say, the thought that counts. I'll update in a couple of minutes.

Well, CRAP. That sucks. Bodies can pull mean tricks on us. *HUG*

When I had the wreck, in 1990(ish), I was told that I would probably develop osteoarthritis at some point (a fact I had conveniently and probably intentionally forgotten). It hurts, but not so much that I absolutely can't function, which is good. :)

You need to make you with the sexy beard into an icon, btw. ;)

I heard trauma could lead to arthritis, but had forgotten about it. Ouch. :( *HUG*

And...good suggestion! LOL!
