Missing Left Sock Beast [userpic]

I knew this was going to come around to me.

Because firecat asked me to:

1) Total number of films I own on DVD/video:
Um. Somewhere between 50 and 100, I think.

2) The last film I bought:
I actually had to think about this one! It's been a while since I bought a film; I believe the last ones I bought were Escape from New York and the unrated version of Wild Things. Bought both on DVD, because I'm trying to replace all my videos with DVDs for space's sake.

3) The last film I watched:
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, because I was having a Lupin moment. Before that it was Dead Poet's Society, because mrknowitall finally got around to seeing Memento.

4) Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:

The Usual Suspects. I just find this a really interesting twist on noir, so I keep coming back to it time and time again.

Tron. Another film that I watch often but not because it's deeply meaningful to me (although there are positive associations with it and my time working at Disneyland). If anything, I'm always fascinated with how well it has held up over time, graphically if not thematically.

Lilo and Stitch. This one I keep coming back to because it does have meaning for me; I remember being the weird kid in class that no one wanted anything to do with, though I certainly didn't take it to extremes. Stitch's struggle to find a place where he belongs/people he belongs with also resonates with me.

L.A. Confidential. The performances in this movie are just so...perfect. All of them.

Feardotcom. There's a longer post about this one in me, somewhere, about the eroticism of watching and of violence. I think this movie is seriously underrated.

5) Pick five people and have them put this in their journal:

1. scendan
2. artslave
3. soaring_phoenix
4. mrknowitall
5. mactavish

You'll just have to peek under the cut to see if I name your name, now won't you. (picture me sticking my tongue out, please.)

Whew! Safe again!

JOhn.

Yay Lilo and Stitch! This is my favorite disney film evah. Might seem like a weird choice, next to Lion King and Little Mermaid, and Fantasia. However. It totally rocks on so many levels. I adore the characters, and all those wonderful watercolor backgrounds.

Tron is also lots of fun to watch, agreed.
