Math idiocy

So.

If I measured the diameter of the center pattern of Mom's tablecloth (hereafter known as the Tablecloth o'Doom or TCoD) at 22", and I now have measured the length of the old shale pattern I've been working on at 12", this means that the total diameter of the TCoD is 46", correct?

Or am I way off base?

I knit the center pattern until I had completed it, then began knitting shale around the outside of that.

TCOD center is here; then those loose stitches around the outside edge have become the shale. :)

The link isn't working just now, so I can't get a visual. If you are looking at the 22-incher going inside one 12-incher and then another, then the diameter of the finished product will indeed be 46 inches.

The last two inches will take you as long as the first 13 took you, I think.

Probably - I've got either 758 or 768 stitches on the needles right now, and will have over a thousand when I'm finally finished just with this pattern. :)

this is the center portion when I finished it.
