Missing Left Sock Beast [userpic]

The thing that I find puzzling about the FDA and the antidepressant/suicide thing is that I was warned by my physician and by my therapist when I was first put on SSRIs that I needed to be aware that a suicidal ideation was possible - because there was a good chance that I would start feeling physically better (and therefore more able to act) before my depression leveled out. So how can this be a new discovery?

perhaps this is simply newly recognized by the FDA? I wasn't warned of it (which was a Bad Thing) but did some research on it and found out. obviously the docs have known about it. "new" is applied far too liberally these days, and I don't mean just here. but to anything and everything.

Thanks - but I'm good, now. :) Things that would have driven me to That Black Place before SSRIs don't anymore, which is a Very Good Thing.

Let's try this again...

I have been on meds for 10 years now and I don't recall anyone warning me suicidal ideation, but then I was already do that. Anyway, I would look up most of my meds in The Pill Book to find out about side effects for myself.

I go to that dark place all the time, I use it for storage. ;-)

Yes, I know you do, and I worry about you. So there.

yeah, i've been wondering that one myself. this is ages old. that was part of the sylvia plath suicide, the energy returned before the feelings of ok-ness.
