Coyote Musings
Coyote handsome
his coat the same brown
as the dust from which he rises

What is the sound of one hand slapping Schroedinger's cat?

The Quantum Duck goes "quark, quark."

Missing Left Sock Beast [userpic]

Today's Imp is Elegba:

The Spirit of the Divine Messenger, the Lord of the Crossroads, He Who Owns All Doors and Roads in this World. He is the intermediary between the Orishas and mankind, and stands at the intersection of humanity and the Divine. He opens all paths of communication, both mundane and Heavenly. His ofrenda contains coconut, tobacco and sweet, sugared rum.

In the phial - well, I opened it and my olfactory senses went OMG coconut! But beneath that I could smell the rum, no hint of the tobacco, though, not even as an afterscent.

Wet, on me - I'll put it to you this way - when I dabbed it on I thought I smelled like a Pina Colada.

Dry, on me - Now I feel like I smell like a Macaroon. Or maybe a Mocha. Or a Macaroon dipped in Mocha.

Dry, about 20 minutes later - Now I smell the tobacco, faintly, though it's still pretty overpowered by the Coconut and Rum. It provides a dusty, spicy undernote beneath the two, however.

I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I promised I wouldn't reject it out of hand, so we'll see. This is another scent I wouldn't necessarily choose, normally.

Feeling:: dirtysmelly

Papa Legba!

Oh, yes. :) Papa Legba and Coyote - are we sensing a theme, here?

There's a post perking about cultural appropriation and how to deal when you don't intentionally appropriate anybody's culture, but it appropriates you.
